Fortinet Discovers Synology DSM Photo Station Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability IV
Summary
Fortinet's FortiGuard Labs has discovered a Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability in Synology DiskStation Manager Photo Station.
DiskStation Manager (DSM) is an intuitive web-based operating system found on every Synology NAS. It's been designed to help users manage their data: documents, photos, music, videos and all other important forms of digital assets. With DiskStation Manager, it's more than just storing data. DSM offers a various range of applications and services to bring more entertainment to users' home life as well as better productivity at work.
The vulnerability exists due to an error in the application when handling malformed inputs in Photo Station. An attacker can exploit this to execute arbitrary script code within context of the target users browser.
